The DDOS was not targeted at Stake on chain, it was spam transactions to overwhelm and shutdown the network. Cardano devs used the hackers bad contract to syphone funds from the attacker's wallet. Nothing to do with stake.

If you see Bitcoin as being a only speculative asset, they yes, never give them your Bitcoin. If you want Bitcoin to have a circular economy where companies can pay you in bitcoin and you never have to convert to fiat again, and governments start paying for things in Bitcoin and start helping the Bitcoin circular economy, then you want to encourage Bitcoin use and pay taxes, fines, and fees in Bitcoin. Personally, I don't see publishing your bank account details (i.e. transparent block chains) to be better than the current system which give you at least some privacy, so I'll pass on the Bitcoin circular economy in favour of privacy coins for actual circular economy use. For speculation, sure. Stack those sats.
